The Puerto Rican Steamship Migration Archives, Inc, is an organization dedicated to the preservation & promotion of the history & cultural legacy of early pioneering migrants via steamships to the United States.

  • We accomplish this goal by maintaining historical documents, photographs, ephemera, andother general information on the shipping lines that transported passengers from the late 1800's to 1949.
  • By working with historical, governmental, educational institutions and community based organizations and providing audio-visual presentations on the subject, we hope to educate and inform the public.
  • Our archives are unique and not limited by cold facts and figures. Our archives contain many relics and artifacts that retain distant echoes of the human warmth of actual people that once held them along with their dreams on their voyage to a new life.  Our artifacts can aide and stimulate the imagination by resurrecting the Puerto Rican waterborne Diaspora from an numerical fact to a real life tactile history
